As of November 2 2021…

On November 2 2021, City of Miami residents went to the polls to vote. On the ballot was a proposed charter amendment concerning a 75 year lease agreement between the City of Miami and Biscayne Marine Partners for waterfront development in Virginia Key.

Voters chose “NO” to the proposed charter amendment. This preserves the marina as an affordable community neighborhood marina.. for now.

The ultimate goal of SaveOurMarina.org to preserve our neighborhood marina on Virginia Key from being torn down and transformed into a high-density, high cost mega marina. Such a developer project is expected to price out most middle-class local residents who are already finding it difficult to affordably access Miami’s waterfront and bays. Our marina, Marine Stadium Marina, is one of the few remaining municipal City marinas available to residents at reasonable costs.
